The New Agenda on Ageing

The Ageing Well Network and the Office for Older People hosted a National Conference on “The New Agenda on Ageing”, which we organised as a key event in the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, 2012.The Conference took place on the 14th June 2012 in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. The conference offered the opportunity to people in the ageing sector:

  • To influence the content of a National Positive Ageing Strategy which is a commitment in the programme for Government;
  • To influence the thinking and planning of policy makers, service providers and support organisations across public, private and voluntary sectors on issues relating to older people and the ageing of the population;
  • To foster awareness of the need for an integrated planning approach that engages key agencies across health, housing, transport, education, social welfare and other key areas.
